Morning Sunrise After Moving to Los Angeles in July 2010

(Click picture to increase the size) This picture was shot through the window in front of my desk. The time was about 7AM when the sun had broken through but not yet risen above the San Gabriel Mountains in the East. Below you can see a bird in the top of one of the palm trees, perhaps enjoying the morning light. Click the picture to make it larger.

Icicles Formed Across My Annapolis Window Frame

Came into my office one morning and beheld the largest icicles I have ever seen, hanging down, from above. Was tempted to break one off and see what it tasted like. Thought for a moment, then decided against it.

That night, I came back and shot them with a flash. Not only were they still there, they had even grown longer and were bigger. And one was caught, apparently, in the process of extending its bifurcation!! Oh me, oh my! Icycles can have interesting lives, even if extremely brief.

A HUGE SNOW STORM falls on Annapolis on December 19th and 20th, 2009.

This is what it looked like the morning after.

A Visitor Comes to my window to say 'Hello"
a few hours before the Snow Storm.

We looked at each other for a moment and then he turned away.

After 5 days of rain and blustery wind, finally the skies have cleared and a glorious morning sun beams forth. It's a view to cheer up the heart.
